If you are walking your dogs in the East Grinstead / Dormansland / Lingfield / Dormans Park area please be warned that a lady walking two staffie type dogs has allowed her dogs to be totally out of control and they have seriously attacked two other dogs in early 2009.
UPDATE: Owner has been fined and ordered to keep dog muzzled in future
In April 2009, one Lurcher had horrendous leg injuries whilst being walked on lead in Dormans Park area, when these two appeared from no where and attacked her on lead dog. The out of control dog owner (woman) just walked away, leaving a badly wounded dog and extremely distressed owner, who then had to pay out a huge vet bill to treat her badly wounded dog. The owner is now too upset and frightened to walk her dog again.
A Boxer dog has been blinded whilst out walking in Lingfield Road Recreation field. Again a 50 year old (ish) woman walking two staffie like dogs (tan / brown coloured) allowed these out of control dogs to attack without cause. Again the woman just walked off saying 'I can't hear you'. The Boxer was blinded and again the owner has been faced with a huge vet bill. Update 20/6/9: This Boxer dog has since DIED - this is so sad - sympathies to the owner.
Both cases have been reported to the newspapers and the police.
