East Grinstead & District Dog Training Club

The Club wishes to encourage members to enter obedience shows;  and therefore award a trophy to any member entering the starting classes (Pre-Beginner or Beginners) at a Kennel Club obedience Open or Championship Show.  The trophy is not only for if you get placed, it is to 'celebrate' that you attended the show and went into the ring!   This trophy is presented at the AGM.

 Jane Rock (Head Trainer):  Has won through the classes with 'Ty' (a rescue dog) to become what is called 'C only'.  'Ty' qualfied to become eligible to work 'Championship C' class on 09/08/08.   Jane also has a young rescue girlie 'Jazz' who won the very first Novice class she entered on 09/08/08 and followed that with a second win on 06/09/08!!.

Pat Beeton (Competition Class Trainer):  Has won through the classes with several dogs (previously competing at Crufts with 'Echo') and is currently working 'Fleece' in the 'Championship C' class.  Pat has also had the honour of judging the obedience championships class at Crufts.  Pat won Open Class C on 06/09/08.

Marguerite Greening (Competition Class Trainer):  Again has won through the classes with several dogs and is currently working 'Chequer' in the 'Championship C' class.  Marguerite also has a young Golden Retriever pup (Harry) she is now training.

Jan King (Class Trainer):  Jan has won out of Beginners with her 'Robbie' and is currently working Class 'A' with her younger dog 'Luca'.  Luca won his second Novice Class 25/08/08 at St. Edwards Show, and is now be working the Classes 'A' and 'B'.

Lynda Potter:  Lynda has worked several dogs in competitive obedience and is currently working Novice with her young dog 'Angus' (already won one Novice class).

Sarah Langridge:  Has competed in Pre-Beginner and Beginner classes with 'Rex'.  Rex also competes in Mini Agility competitions.  Sarah also has 'Jagger' who she is currently training in agility.

Sandra (W) and Frankie (doberman) entered their first ever Companion Obedience Show on 13/09/08 and they WON the pre-beginner type class there.  So thrilled for you!!!  Hope you have a go at Open Shows!   Good luck.

Bill Larkin:  Bill has won up to 'Class B' with Tia and is now working Novice with his young dog 'Bree'.

Gill Wise:  Gill again has worked several dogs in competitive obedience and is currently working Class B & C with 'Trump'.  Gill previously won a 'Championship C' class with 'Bart', but he was unfortunately lame before his Crufts debut and was unable to compete there.  Gill now has a lovely rescue girlie called 'Tilly' who has already won one Novice class.

Shirley:  Has won through the classes, is currently working 'Reesa' in the 'Championship C' class and actually won a 'Championship C' class which resulted in her and 'Reesa' going to compete at Crufts on 08/03/08.  You can watch the video of this on Youtube (link below).   Shirley also previously competed two other dogs in 'Championship C' level ('Jarna' and 'Mannie').   On 13/07/08 Reesa won another Championship C class thus qualfying for Crufts in 2009 (you can watch 2009 youtube via link below)!  On 05/10/08 Reesa won her third Championship C class which means Reesa can now have the letters Ob Ch in front of her official Kennel Club name (meaning she is now an Obedience Champion) .. wow!  On 18/10/08 we won a 4th Champ C class, which was really lovely at it was at our own show!!  Shirley also has a young rescue collie 'Yola' who started competing at Open Shows in 2008.  Yola has already won three Novice Classes and three Class 'A', which now means in 2009 she is working in Class 'B' and 'C'
